Phoenix Shih Tzu 2007-2009. All Rights Reserved. Site designed and maintained by Willow Bend Designs
Each puppy is priced individually, taking into consideration the overall quality, estimated/predicted size, and color when determining what to charge. Our shih tzu prices range from $750 to $2000.
Coat color can not be guaranteed to stay the same color as your puppy grows. Often puppies’ coats start out one color and look totally different as they grow into an adult. I will guarantee however the pigment color of a dog (black, liver or blue).
All Phoenix Shih Tzu puppies come with a one year written health guarantee for genetic defects that are life threatening. (Please see our contract page which includes the health guarantee for more information.)
After you have sent in your deposit hold of $250 and have decided for sure that he/she is the puppy for you, then 1/2 of the purchase price is then due. The balance is due at the time of pick up.
We, at Phoenix Shih Tzu, are setting up a new better system for our friends that are waiting for a specific litter or puppy. We will no longer have a "Waiting List" but, rather, a "Contact List" which means that every time we have puppies we will contact you. Unless you have a deposit down on a puppy it is not considered ON HOLD and that puppy is available for sale. If there is a particular puppy you want to hold until you are able to visit you are welcome to paypal a deposit of $250, which is refundable (less paypal fees) if you decide after your visit that he/she is not the puppy for you. From the time you put the HOLD on that puppy, you have one week to decide for sure about that puppy.
You can also HOLD the 1st pick, 2nd pick and so on with the $250 paypal deposit if you see an upcoming litter you are interested in. Once the litter is born you will be contacted and given first right to choose a puppy depending on what order you sent your deposit. After one week of the litter being born or one week after you have put your $250 HOLD deposit on a puppy you have 1 week to decide for sure about that puppy. After one week the deposit is NON-Refundable if you change your mind about that puppy. (Remember we sometimes get emails and calls for that puppy and they are told the puppy is spoken for and so we are turning them away in order to hold your puppy).
Also, please remember that the breeder always has the right of first pick of any of our litters and we can decide to hold back a puppy at any time unless that specific puppy already has a deposit HOLD on it.
Depending on the puppy’s physical and emotional maturity, We will allow the puppy to go to his/her new home after they reach 8 weeks of age. Sometimes with the very TINY type Shih Tzu they may need a full 12 weeks until they are ready to leave. These smaller Shih Tzu mature slower than the typical Shih Tzu and usually at 8 weeks are still not even close to 2 pounds.
We accept cash, United States Postal Money Orders or you may use PayPal by including the 3% additional for the fees. No personal checks are accepted.
We like to get to know the people who are adopting one of our precious babies, so you are very welcome to pick up your puppy in person at our home. We prefer our puppies to be adopted locally as we like to keep in touch with the families so we can check in once in a while to see how the puppy and family are doing.
On rare occasions, if we trust the situation, we are willing to have a puppy delivered to a family out of state. We do not ship puppies cargo, We have a nice lady who works for the airline that is willing to take your pet in the cabin area (not cargo) for a very reasonable charge. She usually charges around $300, a little more if you are on the East Coast. If we do arrange to deliver a puppy this way, we will make all the reservations and pay for the flight at the airport prior to the flight. This is why we require you to send the balance for your puppy by the time the puppy turns 7 weeks. (families who don't live in AZ)
We do our very best to get your puppy to you as soon as possible, but there are sometimes delays. Inclement weather conditions (i.e. too hot or too cold), hazardous driving conditions, flight schedules and puppy development, are all out of our control. We will not send a puppy unless we feel the conditions are safe, and that the puppy is ready to make the trip.
